Aaron Paul joined Dawsongroup nearly three years ago as Area Sales Manager for the Home Counties and West Midlands, bringing with him a strong retail background that naturally paved the way into sales. He’s recently progressed to the Regional Head of Sales for the South in June 2025. With his background, Aaron knows his customers inside out, but what is the secret to his success?
The Secret to Success
“There’s no real secret” Aaron revealed. “You must be prepared to learn and be challenged to develop skills. I had to do a lot of that, moving out of retail. I think that makes a huge difference. I’m a big believer in growth mindset and what it enables in people. And I think I’ve got a lot of experience behind me operationally.”
With 20+ years working in a customer service environment, this experience has helped Aaron see things through the eyes of the customer that others might not. This customer centric approach is one that he wants to further instil into the team, enabling them to meet targets and create stronger customer relationships.
Taking the Team to New Heights
With so much still to learn, running a team has been a rewarding addition. During the short time in his new role, Aaron has grown the team with plans for future expansion.
By setting clear directions, celebrating successes, and challenging problems, the team is set for even more growth and success in 2026 with a focus on strong support, honest communications, and personalised development.
The Future of Vans
With the hot topic of 2026 goals, there are many for Aaron and the team to achieve together. One of them is supporting the electrification of customer fleets.
Aaron said, “rather than just looking at it from the point of view of electric vehicles, it’s about helping our customers decarbonise in a sustainable way, so that EVs become a natural part of that.”
“With training, development, and the support of our Net Zero team, including Sarah Gray and Ian Dunn, this journey to net zero is an exciting one.”
“I want an empowered team that are engaged and capable – where everyone’s playing their part, working in a unified way from an operational and a sales point of view.”
Keeping Motivated
Outside of work, spending time with family is most important, whether that’s at home playing board games or countless travelling expeditions. Being a role model to his son, and being able to take him to amazing places is one of the main reasons why Aaron works so hard.
“For me, it’s being able to look in the mirror and know that I’ve delivered what I’d want to deliver. From a personal pride point of view and a family point of view, I want to walk through the door after a day at work and be a positive role model and know that I’ve done my best by delivering great results.”
