Supporting Fur Clemt
We are excited to announce our partnership with Wigan-based Fur Clemt, a remarkable organisation dedicated to reducing food waste and addressing food poverty in the community. This collaboration highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
Our journey with Fur Clemt began through our customer JJH Building, who initially supported Fur Clemt’s initiatives with a rental van through Dawsongroup vans. Once we learned about the inspiring work they do, we recognised an opportunity to further contribute. Carolyn Wrench from our team volunteered some of her time to work alongside Fur Clemt’s dedicated staff, gaining firsthand insight into their mission and the impact they have on the local community.
A Commitment to Reducing Food Waste
Fur Clemt is a part of the worldwide ‘Real Junk Food’ initiative, which aims to significantly reduce the amount of edible food waste that typically gets discarded. They gather excess food from various suppliers and provide it to those in need through their cafés, food venues, and community-sharing programs. Featuring a café and a shop that serves budget-friendly meals and groceries, Fur Clemt is instrumental in promoting community welfare and alleviating food insecurity.
Promoting Sustainability
Recently, we had the opportunity to contribute even further. Our Managing Director, Simon Ridley, proposed a charitable donation to support a local initiative, and Fur Clemt was the perfect candidate. Their commitment to diverting food from landfills aligns with our goal of promoting greener practices. By providing an electric vehicle, we are excited to empower Fur Clemt in its efforts to create a more sustainable future.
At Dawsongroup vans, we believe in the power of partnership and the importance of supporting organisations that are making a difference in their communities. Together with Fur Clemt, we are proud to be part of the journey toward a greener planet and a healthier community.
Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives and collaborations aimed at making a positive impact!
