We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Ipsum to provide a number of additional vehicles for its expanding fleet. These vehicles mark the latest addition to support the company’s operations at Severn Trent Water, where it has experienced substantial growth over the past six months.
Ipsum is the UK’s customer service leader in specialist utility and infrastructure services. It provides support services including asset inspection and analysis, repairs and emergency works, asset replacement and upgrades, and planned maintenance programmes.
Importance of the Fleet
The timing of the collaboration is ideal, with emerging tendering opportunities at Severn Trent Water showcasing Ipsum’s continued success and broadening operational reach. The new fleet includes a large number of VS30 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 315CDI L2 High Roof RWD Progressive Panel Van – 3.5T Towing panel vans, CDVs, and 4 x 4 pick-ups, all based out of Ipsum’s recently acquired Leicester Depot. This strategic location is at the heart of the Severn Trent network, allowing for seamless coordination and support for the area’s growing demand.
The vans are fitted with several additions, including shelving units, handwash facilities, internal lighting, Chapter 8 livery, butterfly steps, Ipsum livery, and most importantly, an additional factory-fitted option that allows a braked trailer capacity of 3500kg and a gross train weight of 7000kg.
Gary Henry, Sales Director for Dawsongroup vans said: “We are thrilled to be able to support Ipsum’s growing operations at Severn Trent Water and provide the vehicle solutions they need to drive their business forward.”
The vehicles are set to play a crucial role across various workstreams, further strengthening Ipsum’s ability to support its key client and contribute to the successful delivery of its projects.
Expansion of fleet
In 2019, Ipsum acquired Stormport Professional, who we have worked with since 2009. With this acquisition, we successfully expanded our large, hired fleet, leveraging the long-standing and new relationships fostered under Ipsum’s umbrella.
Earlier this year, Ipsum also acquired Geraghty Ltd, an overhead line company with which we have a long-established relationship through its owner, Nigel Geraghty. This acquisition further expanded our fleet and capabilities.
Commitment to Partnership
Our partnership with Ipsum has been further enhanced through our association with Simon Aylott-Cleaver, whose expertise in trenchless technology has been instrumental. Simon’s involvement in securing the Ipsum Water contract stems from a past working relationship at Colus, where his experience and skills were highly valued.
To launch the new fleet, we have worked closely with Ipsum to ensure that all requirements were met. Simon Aylott-Cleaver, Director of Trenchless Technology at Ipsum, said: “Our fleet is key to maintaining seamless project delivery. They are not only how our teams get from one site to the next, but also a main hub of our operations. The collaboration with Dawsongroup vans has allowed us to add more reliable vehicles to ensure that we can continue delivering high-quality infrastructure service support to our clients.”
The collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting our partners’ growth and operational needs. With a keen focus on contributing to the success of Ipsum, we are proud to be a part of this milestone and look forward to further strengthening this partnership.
