Dawsongroup’s supersite at Avonmouth – the first of its kind – embodies our aim of working together towards a Smarter Asset Strategy. Whilst other depots usually have one or two business units operating out of them, this one has four. In addition to Dawsongroup vans operating out of the site, there is also Dawsongroup emc, Dawsongroup truck and trailer and Dawsongroup tcs.
Come to Us for Everything
The Avonmouth supersite opened its doors to staff and customers on 4th January 2021, complete with state-of-the-art facilities, a sustainable design, and workshops for servicing, repair, and preparation of new vehicles. Since then, it has demonstrated exactly how effective combining business units can be.
Having the different businesses based at one site enables everyone to work together and help each other out. Drivers for truck and trailer or emc help out vans – and vice versa – whenever needed, ensuring the smooth running of operations and customer service. Truck and trailer used to have to use a network of repair agents to service their vehicles in the Avonmouth area; now all servicing is completed by onsite emc engineers.
“It’s great to have us all working together,” said Adam Eddy, Sales Manager South for Dawsongroup emc. “The company ethos is to talk about the group, and working together here ties that into everything we do. Creating brand awareness needs everyone to pull together and sell the brand – even the cleaners. When we talk to customers, it’s not just about the assets we have but about the business as a wider group and the bigger picture – the solutions we provide that mean customers can, ultimately, come to us for everything.”
“Everyone is very welcoming and there’s good interaction between staff in different departments and different business units,” said John Abellan, Business Development Executive for Dawsongroup temperature control solutions. “I’m looking forward to seeing the team here expand and develop further.”
Not only does our Avonmouth supersite enable different business units to work together, but it is also a hub for sustainable working. With electric vehicle charging points for staff, customers and Dawsongroup vans, as well as solar panels and recycling schemes that even include the water in the vehicle wash bays, Avonmouth demonstrates Dawsongroup’s environmental commitment.
